Guys, if you are planning to help those who are starving, please send food that it easily chewable and dont require a lot of stress preparing it. Honestly, giving someone maize yet they cant afford to grind, also imagine how difficult it will be for someone who starved for days eating maize...Please send maize flour instead, potatoes, vegetable or even milk if you can afford it...just my thoughts...

Are there credible collection points?

Many people are able and willing to help people who are less fortunate. the problem is the logistics of getting the misaada pamoja and ensure that they are delivered to the people.

I think for now its best to use Private sectors if its not possible for you to offer assistance directly. They have come together for that purpose, I saw it on Citizen TV. Im sure if you call citizen they'll give u details on how to help. It will be in the news tonight @ 9.00pm...

You can send whatever the amount, I did put it that way so that it doesnt sound a lot of money. I know it is hard to get money out of peoples pocket, I tried it before for the same cause and most people were not willing to assist.

The minimum is 10/= but seriously, DO NOT send 10/=. Send more. This is a serious issue. Our fellow Kenyans are dying of starvation. That's one of the worst kinds of death - slow and painful!!!

Have you ever skipped a meal or two because you were busy or something? How did it feel? Now imagine what this fellow citizens are going through!! One day, two days, three days... No food, no water, extreme weather, combine that with disease. Nobody should go through that!

I know times are hard but even if you have never given to charity, let this be your first time. If you have no cash to spare, skip lunch twice or thrice a week and MPesa the money to 111 111. You will literally save someone's life. Send something small at least once a week for the next four weeks. I know we all have our problems but I doubt there is anyone reading this post who is facing almost-certain death by starvation!

NB: There is no charge for sending money to that number.

By the way, I wonder how much wazuans would raise if they declared a "No Tuthaing Friday" or two and sent ALL the money they would spend on Tusker/White Cup/Summit/JD/Jonnie Walker walking on your head/Legal Changaa etc. on a normal drinking spree to any organization trying to help our fellow starving citizens.

Pay Bill on MPESA requires entry of 2 numbers: business no & account no. In this case is it 111 for business no and 111 for account number or is it 111111 for both?? I need to send something and am confused.

We surely are a great nation. However we need to get out from the norm, every year we experience drought, we contribute (which is fine) then there it rains and we deal with floods and drowing, clearly the government needs to work on a permanet solution.
