My broker just called trying to convince me to buy Britac.....i could not read her tone correctly.....was she trying to make money out of the buy transaction or was it out of the love for me that she wants me to buy and make money..??? Dumb money becomes dumb only when it listens to smart money

I have finally settled on a speculative buy of 10,000 shares for britak...."if god gave you the wisdom to know what would happen tomorrow, you would abuse him everyday". "Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning."

Not lines like " there's huge demand" or "supply is really thin" or "so and kso is buying"...

@ guru267 - We will not be charged the commission but the brokers will earn the commission.

Like i said yesterday, i think you should. i would advocate you do. heck at nine bob, how low can it go? even the share of a financialmsector company like NBK, which is struggling to get new and younger bank customers as wazees diminish in banking halls, has its share listed above. using my example jana britak has stakes invested in Equity and HF both of which have recorded heft profits http://britishamericanbl...cess-tips-from-kirubi/. Where have they put a minimum of 2,000 shares? that locks out small time guys who they are supposed to enlist if they ever want to hack microinsurance?

But you would be better off buying Equity and HFCK rather than Britak.

@fyatu Finally got the same offer from my broker whose targets price is about 13/= post IPO. My reasons for not buying this share is the NO. of shares...if there is an over-subscription then the share will be depressed like Safaricom...if the share is under subscribed there is hope of trading @ 13/= '......to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' Bw Editor, how do you 'value' your shares? I don't believe one can just say that NBK is trading a higher value than Britak's IPO price. You seem to be looking at them in terms of absolute prices. Do you know the projected Britak performance for next year? My concerns however do not eliminate the possibility of an opportunity to make money in this IPO as such opportunities do exist in Public many offerings. How long is your investment timeframe?

In Kenya shares have never followed fundamentals, at least positive info. negative info is quickly adjusted into the share price but not vice versa. I have stated that Britak owes a huge chunk of its balance sheet to capital gains on property disposal as opposed to business acumen in insurance.
AM buying these shares, 50K actually but only for 1 day. I want to take advantage of the market hubris & make @ least 50K. Otherwise I guarantee that that share will dip in such a dramatic fashion that will make TC look like a blue chip. Guys you only have at most Friday the 2nd of September to be rich or to whine for the rest of your miserable lives

News just in: BritakGroup MD Benson Wairegi is optimistic they will raise their Sh5.58b IPO target or even surpass it as the share offer draws to a close.
