Hi guyz,

I need opinions to help with this dilemma.am 25 years old and I have two job offers and its difficult to pick one.

1.From y, the salary is 135k, and a possible 5% inflation adjustments.

2.From x for 123k.

both offers have different merits and demerit. any opinions on which one is better.

You already have the answer right there (which you havent given us though!)....do a basic SWOT based on teh merits/demerits, then factor in what YOU want...and a decision will be easy, else, do the SWOT, then post it here.....

If I am either one of the two organisations I wouldn't be very happy that someone I have graciously offered a job is debating whether to take it or not. I would question your loyalty and on the basis of that withdraw the offer. Granted you might be in a dilemma but exposing the organisation names shows a shocking short sightedness. Edit out the names and pray HR in the two organisations are not wazuans.

Are you sure you expect an answer!!!!. If you keep advantages and disadvantages to yourself, you can only get an answer if this forum is visited by Angels.

If I were you I would go for x and get experience. Then later I pursue a job that offers what x can't.

@witiholi. Now you are talking.

At 25 and earning that kind of salary, it means you are in a good profession with very bright prospects. You are young and you can take risks. In that case, let career growth be your top priority. I hope by career growth, you mean growth within the organization and outside the organization, meaning you will be getting good experience in Y. What is the reputation of both organizations and title (some times this may be a factor when looking for the next job).
The salary difference is not that much. This should not therefore be a major factor for now.
Go for the one that have better career prospects (Y) work very hard (not like the average employee), try to learn as faster as you can and if situations allow, get to learn you supervisors duties, have a good relationship with them. After about two years, they should have noted your effort, if nothing is coming your way like promotions, start looking outside as you work hard but only go for something that takes you higher up.

If however you are in a career that has generally low growth prospects, go for X and find something to do in your spare time.
