@kiterunner, yup Kengen only can produce for Rwanda 10X over. Uganda are coming up though with expectations of 747MW by end of 2011 from 576MW last year.

If we were to look @ it as say...being invested in Rwanda from 75MW to a point when its running @ even 250MW then yes there is huge scope for growth.

True Rwanda has had a great run, Kagame is a good solo act and I dont see any harm in him asking for another term. he has done a great job and built instituitions. At times I feel what we need in Africa are benevolent dictators. Look at Kibaki, he dint win last elections and i was mad but boy am I glad he stole? :) at this rate i am embarrassed to admit i wish he s given a few more years our goals are best achieved indirectly

Rwanda has been marketed very aggressively and now people are fooled that its going to surpass Kenya or Uganda. Sorry, Kengen has much more than that. Current installed capacity is 1054MW.

If you cannot wait for 15 years upwards, then forget about Rwanda. TX, Ug give 10 years more to be liquid. For now the only liquid exchanges in sub saharan Africa is not more than 3. The wazua spirit as members is to educate and inform and learn from others within the limit of what we know in any chosen area irrespective of our differences in tribes, nationalities, etc. .

@young. This market may be liquid earlier than we think. Factor in the integration of EAC and things will move faster than previously. African parents don't know how to say sorry.. the closest you will get to a sorry is a 'have you eaten'

Big is not always beautiful (or profitable) http://www.theeastafrica...2/-/6x4nfa/-/index.html
The most stable & profitable countries in the recent past have been Botswana, Mauritius & Rwanda... They don't lose people (violence) or money (to corruption) like the larger ones... Rwanda has been stable since 1994... Super growth vs corrupt Kenya or Uganda Botswana & Mauritius are stable democratic beacons in Africa! Growth has been great over the past 15 years as well... Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett
