How do you practice your culture in the modern (urban)society?

An example: some cultures do not allow a son to live in the family house after initiation- so how is this done in the current society?

This among other cultural practices

At the risk of being reminded that mwacha mila ni mtumua:
1. Probe the reason for the existence of the practice.
2. Determine whether there are valid reasons for its continued existence.

If you get past 2, ask the question.

i once argued that issue with a person who was more inclined to the cultural practices.
The issue was that a man cannot live in the parent house (with his family)despite the fact that the parents are no longer living there (out of country for a verrry long time)
I gave a scenario of guys living in urban centres where the space is limited and where a man is initiated does he now look for a house considering you cant build a thingira in town.
I think some of the practices have to change with the trends.

For me the most wierd was when Kijana Wamalwa was buried in a sitting position... I have never recovered..
I wondered what they did about the rigor mortis issue.. You have to literally break bones to get him to sit up! WOOOOOOIII!
....above all, to stand.
