I am with stanchart and once had a very bad experience, last year. I had 270k in the account. I issued 3 cheques: one for 110k, another for 158k and another for 2k. Apparently the bank only deducted their monthly charges after l issued the cheques but before the cheques were deposited, so that my account had 269k. Would you believe it, they bounced all my three cheques and charged me penalties for 3 bounced cheques! Wouldnt they have honoured two (for the larger amounts) and just bounced the 2k one? When l complained, they said they had no policy on which cheque to honour and which one not to. I was very very disappointed.
