substantiate your claimd. I beg to differ for never before have I ever been more in control of my home's power bill than with the pre-paid meter.
I think you are the one being an alarmist here.
It is a curious fact that of all the illusions that beset mankind, none is quite as curious as that tendency to suppose that we are mentally and morally superior to those who differ from us in opinion.

The managerial directors of KPLC or KP has passed on their troubles and incompetence to me via an electricity bill. I usually receive a bill of around 2 thousand per month but this last month has come to 21 thousand. Others have received something similar. The meter readings have been inflated by over 1000 units. If this directors think am their milking cow, I believe they are mistaken.

Yesterday I bought a solar system. The energy consultant advised me to instal a Wind Mill to back up the solar system power. All at a price of 30 thousand and I forget KP.

Could you please provide me with the details of a wind mill and solar system that cost 30k. Wattage etc.

Your consultant is dead wrong! Have you seen the prices of solar panels and wind gens?

A 100Ah battery alone will put you back 20k and to replace KP you will need 5 of them... that's 100k on batteries alone. Now start buying panels and wind-gens to fully charge the batts and then a 3,000W inverter.... you are looking at at lest 750k

Alarmists should be removed from wazua. How can your bill be inflated from 2k to 21k. Its just a mistake that can be sorted out, or, you opened an industry in your house in the last month.
Otherwise, i still don't understand how would people spend 2k per month in a residential house even with a family of 6 people. Embrace modern power saving equipments and you will never regret!
My bill has NEVER gone past 600/= in a month (mostly its 400-550) in a 4 bedroomed house in Ngoigwa Thika Town.

Lucky you.Last month my fixed charge bill alone was 240.I called KPLC and a lady by the name Ruth told me that last year in July i didn't pay for the fixed charge as per their system. She even went ahead to ask if i had the bill with me.What nonsense is this? Why would i keep the bill anyway? I've given up and i decided to pay the extra 120/=.Last week safaricom guys passed my neighbourhood introducing the pre- paid meters and i'm looking forward to that.
