Just to remind folks that there is an IPO in town. Who wants to bet that this will be undersubscribed?

At the moment, I am in the camp of the naysayers i.e. will NOT achieve full subscription.

I told you guys to count me out of this, I see fingers burning bigtime; let me sit on the fence. Meanwhile l am in for Bank de Kigali. Sometime next year guys, SONARWA (Societe Nouvelle d'Assurance du Rwanda), Rwanda's biggest insurer will be listing. Discussions ongoing after GOR directed the SONARWA board to pursue IPO. Application for approval expected by Nov 1. I cant quote the sources as there is no link. Just trust me folks.

Even co op bank was under suscribed, and now?britak being under suscribed is an added advantage to those who will buy it,you sell before the big fish start selling.

I bet all Wazuans, except me, has applied for this shares! The amount of discussion and hence contradictions indicates that truly, this is a money maker!

I'm now leaning more towards giving it a shot. At the number crunchers, how significantly will 0.50 shs from HFCK dividend increase income. Also, as at 30th june Equity and HFCK share price were much better than now. Isn't a profit warning very likely?

Now that Britak is not yet listed in th N.S.E is it mandatory for them to issue a profit warning?

I think without the profit warning announcement, wanjiku will still buy and some profit can be made. But if a profit warning is announced, ha ahhahahaha. Plus its ironic, IPO share has a profit warning, even before listing.

@AGT, I don't think you can count on this. Even if BA owned the whole of HF, it would only amount to about 110 mil net. Since they own LESS THAN 20% of 230 mil shares, the figure CANNOT be any more than 20 million.

That's barely a ripple when they need a TIDAL WAVE!

And while we are on that subject, if they really want some real bang, maybe they could convince Equity to issue an unprecedented interim dividend.

BTW have you looked at their prospectus. They had done a split of 1;11,000.A future split may not be possible.
DPS post split is RWF5=Kshs0.75(using 7RWF=1kshs)
EPS post split is RWF12.34=1.76 (using 7RWF=1kshs)
Par value is RWF10=Kshs1.42(using 7RWF=1kshs)
