I started buying shares in 2005 starting with Uchumi. Then, I did not know much and would just ask the broker what to buy and place the order. Not much asked. With time, I found myself with a scattered portfolio of about 21 counters and headed nowhere. I am -35% down and counting. Can someone tell me what to do? Some counters are -67%
Knock hard and it will be opened. Ask and you will be answered. Seek and you shall find.

Good evening Mr.(/Mrs./Ms./Dr./Prof.) Murenju.
Don't worry much about your portolio, you need to worry more about your broker. And since you started trading in 2005, maybe you need to confirm whether Nyaga or Thuo or DSL sold your stocks without your knowledge. Then, get more organised. 21 counters in one portfolio simply means you are not a serious man, or, you only buy minimim shares i.e. 100 per counter.

Finally, start afresh. This you can do by buying more on the most promising counters so as you can atleast bring down the loss.

Have a good trading,

Yours,

What i can advice you is DONOT touch those stock. Dnt sell. We are in a very depressed market and some stocks are down even 50% + since the last bull market.
Wait till the political atmosper cools down and the next market rally comes in 2012. As this will sure lift all stocks and will allow you to get out of stocks at mucg better prices as what is currently available.
Donot sell blindly after all its your hard earned money that we are trying to save here.

I may advice you to try some counter amalgamation. For instance sell NIC because it is losing so fast and buy and equivalent amount of KQ that seems so have bottomed out. U do that for two thords of the counters and remain with 6-8 counters to monitor keenly. One thing, the market gonna sink deeper.
