@flywhisk - That is the debate we need to have: whether we need to have video replays going forward. That way,next World Cup qualifiers can be done under a new set of rules.

All I see now are hypocritical appeals being made by a country that falls on the right side of the Anglo-American media.

You don't start to conveniently appeal for an immediate rule change just because you could have a shot at qualifying in the process! What about all the other countries and matches that maybe had even worse cheating incidents?

By the way,I am surprised the US has not yet announced VISA bans on the entire French team and the referee in order to pressure them into ending their soccer impunity. Hehehe.

@ Djinn & flywisk

The problem with the 'offside goal' against kenya was that not a single kenyan player appealed against it.

@ Taz ..................Correct me if am wrong,but i thought in the controversial match between arsenal and sheffield united,Kanu did not actually score but he passed the ball to somebody else who scored the controversial goal.

Back to the topic.................. I watched the entire match in question and anybody at SK who did likewise will agree with me that Anelka was also denied what looked like a clear penalty. For now the frenchmen may count their luck but if Magigi wants to apply his masoma analogy,then he should look no further than in the direction of the french team. Cant wait to see them being slaughtered in SA.

The way forward for soccer is for each team to be given two lifelines(in the course of each game) for video evidence to be applied at their discretion whenever they feel decisions go against them. If you exhaust your two lifelines before a true controversial decisions goes against you then too bad for you. Personally i cant stand all those stoppages i see in rugby awaiting video evidence.

May be Sir Alex,afterall,has a valid point against refs.

I must say the controversy in football also add to our interest in the game. If we had perfect decisions in the game there would not be any of the arguments that follow after a game.

I mean look at tennis or even rugby who talks about it after the game? You can only discuss about how good a player is or how well/badly a team played. There is no fun in that. Just as long as the decisions dont go against you then let the games continue.

Controvery makes new. Controversy creates interest. No news is bad news.

@Taz,

I guess u got a point when u say that video may not work as easily in football as other sports especially spotting fouls,handballs,etc when play is going on. Maybe the starting point would be goalmouth incidences like offisides,goal line clearances etc where the review is done when the ball goes out i.e before goal kicks.

kenya was hoping to qualify for Africa cup of nations.

The off side goal contributed a lot in pitting paid to that hope.

@Magigi

Are you suggesting two sets of rules for teams with different chances.

Again Henry shouldnt be overly concerned as at that moment insticts tend to take control more than anything else.

life is difficult,you need to play with the referee and linesmen bila hiyo u r out. Henry continued playing until he had the whistle. thats the rule of the game.
Kenya should complain on the penalty that oliech was denied
