@ Djinn & flywisk
The problem with the 'offside goal' against kenya was that not a single kenyan player appealed against it.
@ Taz ..................Correct me if am wrong, but i thought in the controversial match between arsenal and sheffield united,Kanu did not actually score but he passed the ball to somebody else who scored the controversial goal.
Back to the topic.................. I watched the entire match in question and anybody at SK who did likewise will agree with me that Anelka was also denied what looked like a clear penalty. For now the frenchmen may count their luck but if Magigi wants to apply his masoma analogy, then he should look no further than in the direction of the french team. Cant wait to see them being slaughtered in SA.
The way forward for soccer is for each team to be given two lifelines(in the course of each game) for video evidence to be applied at their discretion whenever they feel decisions go against them. If you exhaust your two lifelines before a true controversial decisions goes against you then too bad for you. Personally i cant stand all those stoppages i see in rugby awaiting video evidence.
May be Sir Alex, afterall, has a valid point against refs.
