i requested you for the feed formultion to no avail.
please share with us for the chicken,.

@PATTIE,

You can start with this feed formulation based on percentage total being 100 %. You can convert into Kilos.

Corn/Maize: 52 %
Roasted Soybeans/Cottonseed meal: 29 %
Crimped Oats 11 %
Feed Grade Limestone : 1 %
Fertrell Nutri-Balancer: 3 %
Fish Meal 0.5 %
Kelp Meal: 0.5%
Fastrack Probotic: 0.1 %

Total: 100%

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the informative discussion. I thought i was alone in the high feed price and low egg price situation. I would appreciate if u know someone who can buy a lot of over 100 trays per week. Location Joska-Kangundo road. asanteni.

I have semi free range, been doing for the last one year in shags.
The returns have been fine so far. The eggs are sold directly to hotels and shops. The cocks are sold to wholesalers in bulk and also end users.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Age...Moulting...Lightining...feed to egg conversion...during winter chicken tend to eat more...they need the energy to keep themselves warm..feed them more...im sorry if your profit margins drop...also check the age of your layers...old ones deserve to be culled...also lightining atleast 14hrs...sorry vitamins wont help.

20% is huge!is it abrupt or slow happening over a duration of months? If sudden check ur feeds if possible change.Have had an experience where my miller for two weeks didnt have maize so they substitute it with rice husks and sel me the feeds. My production was so low I made inrtant losses for two weeks.I reported to them and without apology they said they dint have maize.Any tyme my production go down I change feeds immediately and there has always been an improvement!

... true, i suspect the feed quality coz when maize was reduced in the feeds i use that's when the eggs dropped. I have already changed feed as adviced, giving some egg booster and also increased lightining hours and I can see improvement for the last two days. Keeping fingers closed.
thanks all.

Kigumo konstituency some 50 km from Thika town.Today I pulled a 237 per tray.240 is close to good enough i thnk. The best way I think is to go for the market without brokers.

Try City market or that kuku market opposite City stadium. The prices are a bit low since many people are selling due to high prices/low quality of feeds. But a month is a long time in business.

@hunderwear, am impressed by your numbers! just wondering if u keep records of costs ? 1000 pcs would be consuming about 7-8 sacks per week ? Thats like 20k per week? u r loaded bro!

Kindly Recommend madawa ya vacinnation - what u r using. The last time i tried this project the cocci and related avian gods were not amused!
