Really impressed with the lady, as for the guy, there comes a time when he needs to consider any job to hold on to the lady, for crying out loud, enda mjengo, marigiti etc, after all he only needs to earn Sh 300 a day to double their income.

Couldn't have put it better!

I'm assuming this guy baby sits. Now that domestic help is more expensive – with a house help earning about Kshs. 7,500 minimum, this family CANNOT afford domestic help. She earns Kshs.10,000.
If he stops baby sitting and goes for that Kshs.300 a day job,he’ll bring in max 9k per month (assuming he’sworking every day) - and hand over over 80% of it to the domestic help. Under the new minimum wage regulations, he ismore valuable baby sitting right now.

That man should get his act together... start selling newspapers or something.

"Being loved" is not a blissful place to be for a MAN.

What if the wife or child falls sick? Or the rent is doubled?

What if the wife kicks him out? Will he go and beg in the streets?

That guy should sit down one day and really THINK about his next move, and then the next morning he should get out and do it.

That woman is not his mother... that baby is not his room mate!

That woman is good. But one day she may kick him out, that the child may not sleep hungry. I wouldn't blame her.

Very well put @ genghis. the lady knows that far too well and she holds all the aces. Sooner or later he will become a burden to the lady. She will be forced by circumstances to choose between providing for her child (herself and the child) and the family(herself, the child and the man). You all know which path she would take. She would be acting on a mothers instinct which is purely natural.

I doubt the man sanctioned that letter to the newspaper that kind of tells the whole world he is jobless.

Ironically, with that letter praising that marriage, I now think it will cause the beginning of the end of that marriage.

It wont be long before it becomes a matter of 'doing things behind my back'.
