When are we going to start trading futures & commodities in Kenya? I understand 30TH june was deadline for interested parties who were interested to register their commodities. I think this will be more interesting than shares. Please share any info you have. Are we going to trade via stockbrokers if not through whom?

And who are leaderkenya.com

I dont think its a bad idea keeping money for futures & commodities instead of throwing it into dying market...just a thought

@Lovely - A Futures market is a great idea, but I wonder if the current CMA has the muscle to regulate it. Futures always tend to attract hot (fast) money - large funds and a proper framework especially on money laundering needs to be in place.

@Qw - I've covered the website thru & I can see the firm is located at CIC plaza. They do have fixed & fax lines. Weird tho that the customer care email is sales... I've never heard of them before tho the site has a copyright since 2007. You can do a tour smile
$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

I met the guys (Leaderkenya) around 2006 when they were setting up office, just out of interest and to share trading ideas. The main guy I met knew his stuff and he even took me through some trades, but I was skeptical about the inexperienced traders they were employing to trade client's money, though he assured me they were trading under his supervision and training.

I never followed up coz they required trading in their own system and some $10K depo or something. I dont know how successful they are so far.
