Hi all

For weeks now,the Dyer and Blair online access website has been under maintenance. I have therefore not been able to place any orders and I also haven't been able to check the status of my account.

My worry is that it is during times like these that the broker thieves carry out fraud.

Now from Jerry's comment that the directors made a decision to cancel online access and email orders, are we safe???

Moreover we have not had any communication from D&B. The last time we heard from them was that they were to make inactive accounts inaccessible.

IT LOOKS LIKE A WELL CALCULATED PLOY TO FLEECE INVESTORS. I say RUNNNNNNNNNNN as fast as you can unless you think you have a satisfactory explanation from Dyer and Blair

we cant keep on running all the time....

lets be candid with ourselves, call d & b and find out why they are taking a whole month maintaining a website...

if the reasons you get wont make you then make a decision....

'Now from Jerry's comment that the directors made a decision to cancel online access and email orders, are we safe?'???. I truely miss the online service. You could also request CDSC to give you a statement if you seriously think there is something fishy going on.

xxxxxx - I feel you on this one.

My situation is even worse,I am not in the country. No replies to emails. I called them, they kept me on hold for close to 10 minutes, only for them to tell me,they are doing away with the online access, and email thing, and i have to go to their offices. asked them - please put that in writing/mail. Nothing yet.

When i get back to Kenya, first thing,go to D&B,get back my money/transfer my shares.

Am told NIC securities offers email trading,as long as you have signed email indemnity with them. Any takers on this one? Are they reliable?

No email you said? I thought they've recommended that you place orders thro shares@dyerandblair.com. @Mukimwa. If it is difficult for us in the country I can imagine how it feels for you.

@Kamaa + Jerry..

I doubt whether they are emphasizing email trading. I have sent them 4 emails in the last 2 weeks, none have been answered.

Its not an email problem, because the lady i spoke to on phone could see the mails in her inbox, she was at pain trying to explain why they havent answered,or even acknowledged them.

Anybody with Mohamed Hassan's email address anywhere? or one of the big guys there? send it to my inbox.. I need to give them a piece of my mind.

How do they expect us to do business with them without doing orders via email? If I'm not wrong they have offices only in Nairobi and MSA.

These dyer and Blair guys are behaving like the banks in the 90s. These actions will come to haunt them later.

I say it is the best place to be,as you can't run from what you do not know what you are running from.

To me I think they are trying to find the best possiple way to cut off online fraud and ensure the safety of it's clients.

Regarding a/cs beaing dormant, the client is safe as no one can trade on his/her a/c unless he/her authorises the company to do so. Furthermore, you can still know the status of your a/c just by sms'ing CDSC themselves.

HAve you tried to find out more about the issue from D&B??????????????????/

I managed to visit their offices today.

I think they must be dealing with a case of fraud, the mood was very 'mazishi'-like without the wailing.

No explanation why they are turning it off,or email orders off.. unsatisfactory explanation to why the mails were not answered.

I will stay for now.. but my account wont have any cash. I dont know if the storm has begun,is over or not,I just wont take the risk.

yenyewe i am grateful to this site coz the infor we get!!! so went there jana ready for a battle, coz one they deactivate my account, then online? got in and apparently its either the one who was serving had had a good lunch or something, coz she actually sat me down and was given a lengthy explanation as to what was happening (of course leaving out some details). apparently they are in a process of installing some systm or some kind of software that will gurantee my protfolio safety and make my work easier as an investor. how true this is,don know!!! but just as mkimwa said, wont leave any cash there but study them keenly.

in the meantime who is a better broker or investment bank i can use for now and still access the online service
