First, the digitization process is excellent especially for the sake of government's efficiency and other business stakeholders.

Secondly, let's hope that the integrity of this data is really upheld and authenticity maintained.

If it really works such that the "citizens" and local companies really utilize this resource then bingo we go it right. This is a great platform of innovation and presents a lot of opportunities for a data driven society.

One caveat though is imminent to me. Now that the data is on the internet what will prevent companies from other corners of the planet using this information to exploit the Kenyan consumers.

For example if we see that a certain disease is prevalent in certain parts of the country we easily begin producing cheap drugs targeting this market. Some holes need to be plugged just to ensure we protect our country's interests.

I hope we can now move and come up with proper frameworks to protect the Kenyan consumer.
