My assumption is that you are either good at physical sciences & math OR you enjoy them. If not, then I don't see the reason why you want to develop a career in computers... you might live a very frustrated life and probably earning a lot of money but dreading every morning and wondering why you made such a big mistake!
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

About to do my Undergrad but am trying to weigh out Between Computer Technology and Information Technology from JKUAT.Please help which of the 2 should i opt for am currently working in the ICT industry.Ideas Most welcomed!!

Kibs,
Have you considered computer science in ICSIT, JKUAT? Keep away from this if you don't like mathematics and lots of it.

If you only have the two choices then go for Computer Technology called CT offered at ICSIT. Note that the kind of students in a class have a great influence on the development of your skill set. CT has this mix.

I agree with you @radio. CS has mathematics and I guess Chemistry as well lol.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly I agree, chemistry is taught in the first sem, first year but its not considered in the final grade! How I treated it with contempt, plus communication skills and HIV.

Communication Skills are important in any profession.

Computer Technology: Leans towards hardware and engineering (circuitry, power, components, networking).
Information Technology: Leans towards business/information expertise with regards to systems, light computer programming
Computer Science: Has a fair quantity of both, plus a lot of math (boolean algebra, linear algebra, simulation & modelling, calculus, statistics, operations research), science (automata theory, machine learning, artificial intelligence, physics, electronic theory) and more intense computer programming. When we were in school, the first 2 options were not available ..I hope that helps, choose wiselt

good advice.Applause

the difference is something very small, just some few units. both CT and IT are actually under ICSIT. the more notable diff is that IT is fully self sponsored and takes a shorter period (3 years). it used to be crowded too during my time there. CT has both JAB and self sponsored students, takes usual 4yrs, not crowded (hope its still that way). some facilities used to be shared between the two.
out here no one cares whether its IT or CT, if an employer/clients wants a website and u can deliver, then u are good to go
