@aguy - Well, what choice did KK have? Working silently does not work for legit OMCs like KK but helps crooks like triton & prisko! Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Tihihi... i wouldn't be suprised, these guys are in business. What a company! anyone else noticed that stockmaster has so far predicted the course of share movement since, the profit advice correctly? He said, the rally will be gradual and based on fundamentals. The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself

If they declare a interim dividend the share will for sure climb to the 15/- and above levels.

Kudos to you. i guess last yr with the kpc and kprl scams, kk wouldn't have stayed away from the media, even if they wanted. I wish they didn't relish media attention as much as they do. On another note, what was kk's managements aim, in issuing a profit advice? The question might be negatively framed, but im genuinely searching for an answer. Anywho, they get an A plus ratings on all other key investment areas, so i'll let it fly. Two days ago,Stanchart Plc issued a statement predicting a double digit income growth for first half 2011,driven mainly by growth in Asia, and stated zero exposure to Greece. KK just did the same for its shareholders.

The highest price I can remember for KK is ksh 107 (pre-split). We did 11.35 today - is this then the highest ever?

So we have got some ways to go before we hit the all time high (i.e 15+). I doubt whether we will get there with this bearish market but one can hope!

stocksmaster wrote:mchawi wrote: stocksmaster wrote:the deal wrote:KK has no element of suprise thus it wont rally unless they suprise us with an interim dividend the share will remain stuck below 10 bob. The price rally that i forsee for the next 6 weeks will be based on investment logic, not surprise. The projected profit of more than 50% proves that price controls had no damage to this company.....and thats what has been holding back investors. By End of July, i forsee a minimum of 25% capital gains on this share. Happy hunting. Since this posting, KK is up 10%. Going forward, the company is on track to post at least Ksh 2 EPS for 2011, which makes a target price of Ksh 18 (Forward P/E of 9)within the next 12 months feasible. This is a share that should at least trade in the Ksh 12-13 range once the half year results are released. At current market stagnation (NSE 20 share index stuck at around 4000), KK ranks amongsts the few shares that have both a high potential for capital gains in both the short and long term and a generous dividend yield. Happy Hunting. The share price has maintained a slow upward movement with demand outweighing supply. Interestingly, the foreigners are the ones accumulating (last week as much as 86% of volume). A temporary price resistance at around Ksh 11.50 seems likely but it will be overcome before the results are announced in the third week of July. The price should stabilise at around Ksh 12 in the third week of July. I still forsee a price range of Ksh 12-13 post half year results, and a Ksh 15-18 range in the next 12 months. Happy hunting.

Happy hunting. I agree with the 12-13 price target in the short term. Methinks we will also get to 15 by the time 2011 full year results are released, subject to conditions in the market - but after that we will be having elections looming which may cap increases in share prices across the board.

What happened to the MoE? Kwaani @VVS stopped them from burking? Well KK has defied the charts...the forward momentum is too strong...the real still will be if EPS is 60%+ and kuna dividend...there even 12 bob will be broken.

(just restating my previous position) Comrade, I am bullish on the first two but other than quick in and out ops on Uchumi, I would certainly not be in it for the long term until it proves itself. I expect the 2011 earnings to come in below par as per their abridged circular just before their relisting!

Sure..as for Uchumi..the smart investor will be looking @ whether the health of the balance sheet is improving (I believe it is) as I buy into investor pessimism over the P&L and await the re-rating in peace
