Since you just want one antenna it costs about 11k . We are talkin about a 24dbi omni directional.it has a range of miles.
I have seen them beign hawked at dealfish.co.ke .
But most importantly check their authenticity and BUY NEW !!!!

Just wondering how do u bill those on wireless net. ?

This is a question for Skunkworks forum, not Wazua.

What's the issue @ kenyalyrics. Thats a very viable business. Kwanza those data hungry uni students can really push this isp business.
I say go for it.
But the impending entry of kencell/zain/airtel/? 3g and orange 3g could ruin ur party if u price ur net wrongly.

@emores, the place to go to for what you're trying to do is right here in Nairobi. There is a local engineering establishment that works with a world class and leading business in the US.

They provide low-cost - mainly based on hardware manufactured using low-cost readily available materials and open-source software - solutions for the developing world. One of the products that they've designed and have launched internationally is a low-cost antenna that can do long-range unidirectional as well as short range omni-directional links at a fraction of the price that you'd find commercially.

Their target market is very similar to yours. However, to date they haven't hit on a successful commercially viable model. I think you should partner with them and provide them with your commercial expertise. Email me at muchno [at] gmail.com and I'll give you more details.

@QW25071985 - you're fond of calling wolf, eh? I'm not authorized to publicize the products or the business - hence the reason I suggested that @emores emails me. Information passed one-on-one is not information being made public, and therein lies the reason for me asking that interested parties contact me outside this public forum.

It is a serious organization and I will provide the link between them and the interested party. I'm not affiliated with them - however, I support their cause (low-cost, open source solutions and the like).

In the meantime, feel free to call wolf... if one feels it's a hoax, one need not contact me as I'm not holding a gun to anyone's head.

I amnt accusing you in bad taste but really the last thing an organization that wants tn go commercial is stay silent about its activities.it needs to publicize itself to attract patners like our budding isp.
Anyway u have your reasons for withholding the name and you know better than us.
