Yes I believe you @Njunge...for them to produce 300K mt in 2012 production has to jump by 20% from this years 250k mt which is unbelievablesmile but this years numbers will be positive otherwise this thing will.sell.sell.sell to 3bob.smile

@njunge is mumias a speculative buy at 7.35 in your opinion??
.

I need not say a big NO but i seriously doubt.I can't see much price movement (Looks like it will be stagnant) into mid 2012.....but that's me.

@the big deal

Pardon my ignorance if I am wrong or clarify the statement below in your blog on Mumias

The company recently reported below par results, its 1H earnings for the year ending 30 June 2011 dropped by 22%

Does Kenya firms report results before end of trading period ? Today is June 23 and their 1H 2011 (from your report) ends in June 30 ?

I also heard that... you mean Nairobi not Kakamega right?

MSC made 1.03 Bln in 1H 2010...only for it to post FY PAT of 1.4 Bln which means MSC only made a paltry Sh 400 Mln in 2H 2010 which is way below the Sh 816 Mln they made during 1H 2011...look at the numbers and you will see MSC will suprise... http://contrarianinvestingkenya.blogspot.com its Free.

@Genghis Khan, if he were to stand for Governor why would he consider Kakamega and not his home town of Homa-bay?.I do not consider Kakamega to be as cosmopolitan as Nairobi.

If its purely TA...look where that RSI is...its inches away from crossing below 30...your screen should be blinking buy...i'm also trading this one...

Just like before. Rebound to 7.80 when the market turns back up in a few weeks.

I am giving MSC a CAUTIOUS thumbs up at the current price range of 7.00 - 7.20. If we are to believe Mgt, they will have produced about 137K MT of sugar in H2 2011 which will be more than the production of about 119K MT in H2 2010 - a near 15% increase. This should translate into some nice profitability numbers for H2, "ceteris paribus" given that in 2010 most of the damage was in the 2nd half of the year. I am assuming that sales were in tandem with production.

It is worth noting that Full Year production at 250 MT of sugar is only 6.03% higher than last year's production. So we have to trust that the price and margins were substantially higher than that.

As far as share price is concerned, one can never tell. However, MSC has been fairly stubborn in resisting going below Kshs 7 for a long while, so it may be due for a nice bounce.

Cautionary note: With MSC, I would expect a selloff for small timers to try their luck with BA, such has been the nature of the share.
