I was so impressed with Kenyan dancers who took part. Walikuwa juu tu sana! Congrats FBI for the great show although the money amount you won was a total rip-off. Next time they do it every member should get at least 1 million bob for the time, effort, costumes, presentation and lifting the rating through viewership for Citizen Tv.

BBI will solve it

Also thought the amount didnt reflect the work and cost of participating in the competition. Each member gets something like Kshs.200k? Kept wondering what the actual amount would be after deducting the cost of the costumes..

Give credit to Citizen. They have tried and I believe the price money for Sakata II was much higher than for Sakata I. I 'see' the program as opposed to watching it so I might not have the exact figures and facts.

I agree with you @2012 and @For Sport that the price money should be increased but I think Citizen is way ahead of the rest. If they get a title sponsor and other partners maybe they can make the deal better for the competitors. It could be called "Summit Sakata" for example and other partners can do the costumes for free to reduce the cost on the participants. We could have for example "costumes by Fundi Frank", "Make up by ABC salon" etc. That way the winners might just pocket upwards of 3m with minimal costs.

Having said that, the "air time" [read free marketing] the groups got is worth millions of shillings. All they have to do is take advantage of it.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I agree, sponsorship is the way to go. I thought it was better than any Tusker Project anything and would add real value to a brand that fits in well. Safaricom would have been better represented here than sponsoring that outdated Chaguo thingy because the dancers and styles were modern, creative and innovative.

Enyewe that final dance for FBI was ... as we would say it back then .. 'moto juu ya fire! Those guys are good. As said here, the prize money was kidogo but the opportunity those guys have is mind boggling..... Even if they had won no money, they have been given a chance to brand themselves for two seasons... Now any company/ MP/ Church ( hata helicopter) that needs to woo in yougsters as buyers need these guys badly if they will make an impact on their generation Y,Z A1, A2?..

Is that dancing or acrobatics?? I have watched that show a couple of times when under house arrest and never saw anyone dance!! just somersaults, imitating landing procedures, jumping here and there, etc, etc. that is not what i know as dancing. And those 'judges'... they cannot even express themselves. However its a positive effort from the sponsors and citizen TV, so kudos to those two.
When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

Like in a Formula I team, we always just talk of Hamilton, or Alonso, or Schumi. What about the choreographer, the fitness coach, the dietician, the driver, the tailor, the deejay.........
