Hi Gentlemen,

Has anyone ever dealt with Old Mutual?

I signed a debit order with them - to allow them be debiting my BBK Account.

After sometime, I discontinued the product ... a life policy. I wrote to them to stop the debit order .... they are still debiting my account .... I have to go back follow it up.

Very inefficient company, no wonder they can only make money by getting people's monthly premiums .... just my thought. Because even when you call them, you think they will deal with your matter but they dont ... if you are lucky to get someone on the line.

Good day

...in future, make a standing order with your bank where you have full control on when it shoud be stopped or revised.......Basically, you should have been the one instructing the bank not old mutual but since you gave them the "right" to chop funds from your account...pole

Thanks.

That is what I have found out .... you must have control over your money.... unless it is a loan that is being paid.

I am even thinking of closing that account ....

Thanks

Pole. You should have searched articles on Old Mutual on his site before committing - they are well documented.

Next time I do "due diligence".

But I have been impressed by Pan-Africa; good company from the way they deal with issues.

Old Mutual is just living on its name ....

Its a mistake l also made; and had to close an account the for debiting to stop. Sometimes you pay unfront for the whole year, and instruct them to stop the debiting, and they dont; so you end up paying double. At the earliest opportunity l could exit without penalties, l exited and went straight to ICEA. I like their service.
