CMC: Are they winning Govt tenders fairly?

I have lately seen after the passat fiasco govt pick-ups are now FORD a CMC brand in the papers today they have a flagging off pic of several ford pick ups for the MOW.

IF you compare Toyota & mitsubishi With Ford pick up I think toyota & mitsubishi are the cheapest in maintainace and Reliability.I am just curious does CMC win this tenders fairly or are they just enjoying some preferential treatment due to its close association with the Finance minister.

Ford, especially FORD RANGER, 2400CC double cabin, is the cheapest amongst its like. Its spares are readily available, though not cheaper.

The procurement officers in GoK would only check the initial cost and not the running cost, when buying for their staff. I used a CMC FORD RANGER 4X4 DOUBLE CAB 2400CC for 18months in my last project, and would tell you that GOK makes a big blunder, if we argue from an operation point of view!

The place where i work we have FORD RANGER pick ups....it's almost SIX years now since we bought them brand new from CMC..apart from the regular general service the pick ups have never broken down even once...this pick ups are meant for use in the rough roads so the government has made a wise decision according to me.

ITS A GOOD NEWS FOR SHAREHOLDERS OF CMC and i will once again recommend this share is cheap at the moment.
