This guy has mellowed since the days of chain link lock up.
I find his articles inspirational as well as rich in intellectual content.

As sober as the Pope!

Don't be so impressed by the way the articles are written. Most of these people get the articles written for them. They give their general idea and then someone else structures the article - at a fee of course. I learnt this from the guy who writes for Njoki Ndung'u among others.

Having said that, I like the article. It raises a number of very pertinent issues. I personally was very concerned by the cost of the new dispensation and the structure of the new government - especially the county government and new constituencies/MPigs. I felt that we should be deliberately making the government leaner so that we can have a bigger chunk of our resources going to development as opposed to recurrent expenditure as happens now and will get even worse in the new dispensation. Nobody wanted to hear such arguments even in wazua!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Nice article. Thats the harsh reality in there. In our effort to get change, we have sacrificed the very ideals we are fighting for! We want democracy yet our definition excludes views of some like the church. Our revolution is like the 1789 French revolution. It devoured perpetrators of the old dictatorial order and then went for the reformers who went thru the guilotine
