Wazuans oye! Mashujaa kweli. Looking to connect with anyone who has done drip irrigation installation on an open field. I would like to know the cost per acre (pipes, drip tapes regulators etc) and any cheap installers anyone has dealt with-the one who did my greenhouse was a joker kidogo. Happy Mashujaa day all!

Small correction, ni madaraka, self rule day when unyatto became the PM. Mashujaa comes in october. Back to drips, am thinking of starting a prroject and will keenly follow your thread to gain insight into this field.

@smallfama....I know a supplier who deals in good second hand materials. I have bought greenhouse materials from him in the past.

is drip irrigating really worth it? couldn't i just use my normal sprinkler just as well?

Sprinkler is not recommended where water is a limitation. It wastes a lot of water. With the drips, water gets to only where it is needed most

I don't how big your project is but I do know Amiran Irrigation do that kind of Installation. Also another company called Irrico International.

I haven't done it on open field, but will soon do; I only have it inside my greenhouse at the moment. I will use either of these two guys:

An agronomist who has done greenhouses & drip systems for quite a number of guys in Kitengela. Talked to him personally, he seems to have a grip on things. He's called Cleophas - 0726-834223

Let me know how it goes; I'd like to keep tabs on this post as well; I'm glad to see that Agropreneurs are coming up.

Check with Amiran. Drip is way to go as it saves on water and weeds are not a problem coz the system waters the crop only. Also check with Benjackie on what not to do. All the best.
