Phil Jones, Ashley Young, good English signings. Wish we had gotten Henderson as well. Ferdinand is on the wrong side of 30. Vidic approaching fast. Jones 19 and Smalling 20. By the time the warriors retire, we'll be having some solid English foundation, that might make up Englands central defense as well.

The 19 yrd old signed by Arsenal is more of Full back than a centre half....I believe he'll be Sagna's back up (Eboue's replacement). I'm not a typical fan of English players but we need one or two at the back to control teams like stoke, Blackburn etc. The players i really want to see at Arsenal are Shahktar's Willian, Cahill/Samba, Baines, Falcao/Gervinho and an experienced defensive midfielder.

Henderson is not worth the 20m pounds L'fools spent on him....but then again they have a habit of wasting money on English players.

What Usmanov thinks of the Arsenal board.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

After having their 22.1 million pounds offer rejected Man City are now prepared to pay up to 34 million pounds for the lad.

City executives are due to fly out to Italy today to see if they can get the deal done. When things start becoming this stupid, level headed managers step back till things cool off.

There are players who are good but are grossly overvalued. But I guess with the current oil prices, the Abu Dhabi based owners have the right to be stupid. For their sake though, I hope they will meet the UEFA break even rule or be thrown out of European competitions.

I've always been of the opinion that Usmanov is the kind of owner Arsenal need to achieve success but the Arsenal board are so scared of this guy that they even denied him the opportunity to take control of the club. The guy offered more cash than Stan Kronke but they still rejected his offer....its good to see the fans strongly in support of Usmanov, what he has said is the gospel truth.
