Well finally NSSF got its way three board members did not offer themselves for reelection even though they had indicated in the agenda Items they would.Three new directors were elected.

Hassan The dyer & Blair MD makes his debut into the board...I think he will be the youngest board member.

The preference shares conversion to ordinary shares will take sometime its quite delicate given that the government would dilute the ordinary shareholding quite substantially.

The ordinary shareholders were of the opinion that One board seat should be reserved for them since its a waste of time to vote since they have no say.The MD said he would pass the opinion to the 2 principles (govt &NSSF)

I thought he (hassan) left Dyer & Blair.

I feel for the ordinary shareholders.
But this is capitalism and majority have their way

Yes NBK would be undervalued but only if they went regional but as long as they remain a fully Kenyan bank their profits will not grow much.

Maybe just as a speculative play when the conversion of the preference shares. Remember KPLC hitting 27? Seems so far away.
But frankly there is a host of banks to choose from that will beat the returns of NBK. There was a time James Mwangi had his eye on this. Would he still consider?

Hassan elected chairman. But he is not the Dyer & Blair one. He is the chairman of NSSF.
