And also keep in mind the employees may demand that all those "super-normal profits" be put into their pay slips or they strike.

This is very exciting for me as a shareholder.we all know (or i assume, lol) that before a price does a major rally the stock has to change hands at a very large vol at a stationery price.this what has been happening to KQ. As it strongly signifies a price floor that will form a base for the extended rally.
@ hisah and any other t.a (s). I am sure you agree.
I have seen what price floor can do especially in forex trading where i am active.the rally that follows is usually big.
So if you ask me this is the time to buy KQ.

Laughing out loudly. i saw it all along. Now look where the price is . that large order that changed hands around 13 april was a signal for us mere mortals to get in and ride the price up w/ the big boys.

@QW....how does one know when a big order has been made on a stock?...is there a website that shows these numbers?.....when i grow up i wanna be a mbig mboy....tafadhali saidia

And by the way, is this the fyatu that I know?

well, you have to open an account with CFC financial services to be able to trade online.
If you are only interested in knowing the no. of shares changing hands and the price, try Rich.co.ke

May be I mistook you with another fyatu that I know.

Dec 2012 [if the price of oil drops then KQ will have to PAY the counterparties]

Let them strike... KQ's management needs to grow a backbone. KQ can always hire others [like they recruited from local airlines] including foreign staff since most of its passengers and destination are NOT Kenyan.

I believe it is @ $90/bbl not $80... At $80, KQ will be forking out cash but only partial hedge so there are benefits as well.

@kenyainvestin. A p.e of 5.56. Wow that is very low. I wonder what p.e kq normally trades at, cause this is just too low. Unfortunately or fortunately set to be diluted by rights issue.

I never sold any KQ at 32 or 33 or 34... but while folks like you bashed it... I was picking up a few [& KK too!]...

Watch me reap the benefits!

Folks are focused on 9 dreamliners... That is good but I am focused on the 'death' of competition as fuel prices rise for other airlines. As a passenger, not good! As a shareholder very good!

This article by Carol Musyoka adds to what I have been trying to get folks to understand.

IF YOU DO NOT TRUST THE MANAGEMENT OF A FIRM THEN DO NOT INVEST IN THE FIRM.
My first such significant loss was Olympia. Then KQ.

@kq management wasnt extremely crooked. what happened is that they stole and macro environment attacked at the same damn time! like a kid looking to steal only one teaspoon of sugar, then unfortunately the sugar jar tips over and breaks!

Ahhh! So KQ's management were just small-time crooks but crooks they were. A kickback from those selling hedges.
A kickback from the juice/soda supplier.
Just small time crooks being paid millions/month.
