Does he have any business interest in the US.
Can he just ignore the US and move on unbothered!
The said Kingpin act is a US legislation whose application is limited to within US borders and Citizens.
Advise me otherwise.
Question;
Havent Mssrs Kibaki and Raila got any info of Mwaus complicity/Kingpinship in drug trafficking!!!!
Any interest in protecting him!!
It won't be business as usual in the long run.
The Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Lundering Act and Arbitration (amendment) Act was signed into law early this year by Baks and provides gava with the mechanisms 'for the identificatn, tracing,freezing, seizure and confiscation of the proceeds of crime.'
So legally, GoK is duty-bound to seize any properties or companies that it can prove were financed from narcotics. But that's unlikely given the tide of sleaze constantly lapping the corridors of officialdom in Kenya...I mean since, Jan 2011 who's been convicted under this new legislative piece- wasee tu small time wa kuuza bangi?
But its a different ball-game altogether now that the legal framework in both Kenya and U.S. is in place and Uncle Sam, through the DEA Station & U.S ambassador in Nbi, will most likely grab GoK's balls and yank them down powerfully to force it to act.
They certainly won't come for him ala Noriega, but since its a crime there as well...maybe we shouldn't put it past DEA to seek his extradition if they specifically tie him to narcotic shipments to U.S shores.
The world is shrinking real fast for the fat cats of impunity. Nikubaya raundi hii, ma-hungry.
