With the recent discussions on Wazua about Jubilee Insurance and CIC Insurance, I thought I would compare the performances of 8 companies involved in the insurance business in Kenya based on several indicators.

NOTE : I have read arguments on whether Jubilee made an underwriting profit or loss. In my analysis, I have used the figures which are provided in the financial report. This is for uniformity purposes, as other companies might also have “inflated” their claims.

To check out how various insurance companies fared in comparison to their peers, click on the link below.

@kenyainvesting.blogspot.com , you have done it again. Your work is impressive.

If you may, pls add the income line for 'Net Fair Value Gains on Financial Assets at FVTPL'. A company like Jubilee made a massive 1.6B through this line. A comparison of this income line with the other firms would present a bigger comparative picture.

As aforesaid, your work is impressive. Keep it up

invest0r, once again, thank you very much. I will look into adding the net fair value gains. I had initially put it in, but could not find the figures for UAP and Lion of Kenya Insurance Company. I will add for the ones I get. Thanks
