Yesterday's price does not reflect Uchumi's fundamentals...it was just a mere SELL OFF from guys who thought maybe Uchumi was gone for goood i will be looking to get some kesho...Trauling PE is 5.29 minus the Tax credits offfcourse.

@ selah,

i like your commentary, its quite comprehensive n i fully agree wit it.
apart from the micro issues facing Uchumi, other macro factors that r coming into play which inc revision of both the base rate n cash reserve ratio by the cbk, will -vely affect uchumi n nse as a whole

i have no regrets at all any price below 12 is a buy that's below the margin of safety I had in mind going with the net asset value of the company.

In stocks you must always be prepared to lose 50% of your portfolio it's a paper loss so long you don't realize the loss by selling. just look at the fundamentals.

The fundamentals were not there in 2006 and the people now selling still bought this share at 14.5. Back then it was crap, i wouldn't even have touched it with 10 feet pole but now looking at its audited accounts I will only stop buying when it has reached 20% of my portfolio.

In 2002 I used to buy KQ at 7/= and i would be done 10% the next day and i kept adding, i was a happy man exiting at 95/= 4 years later.

You make money by buying from pessimists and selling to optimists at the right time.
