UCHUMI IS LOSING OUR TO CEMPTETITORS IN MORE WAYS: Very very veryyyyyy dirty outlets (Buru, Jogoo Rd, Aga Khan Walk etc), Very disorganized shelves, somehow Uchumi is expensive in most cases, stuffy shopping halls, poor ventilation, flow of fresh air ( where there are bakeries inside the supwermarket all items including cloths smell of bread, try Aga Khan walk, Phew!!!!!!!!! Let me end there

I still think this re-listing is a PR exercise to woo in good strategic investors I av read Nation'smart company pull out and thats proof enough.

look at how they describe ciano.

Quote:
HE was not a newcomer in retail. He had turned around companies like KPLC and Kenol Kobil.

Quote:
In 1990,he was sent to the Caribbean to spearhead the turnaround of shell companies

Actually the all pull out is full of accolades that hides the fact that the company is afloat because of our money[taxpayers money].

The demand for the shares are quite high so the possibility for the share rising are high but as a long term investor I will wait for the full year result before I plunge in.

'......to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' Colossians 2:2-3

Layman, couldnt agree with you more. Whenever I shop there, I have to go and wash my hands immediately because of the visible dirt. Although I must give them credit for the fresh vegetables, I could never shop anywhere else for fresh veges. Their price tags are almost always not correct. I hope they improve soon. All the same, I have no intention in buying the stock, I'll be a bystander for a while, just watching..

It is still trading at a discount, as investors still emotional about it. I guess the end year results are what will determine its actual market value, as thats what will guide some of the institutional investors. In the meantime, we old shareholders take advantage of our long term scrutiny of the company (and so better understand current fundamentals) to stock up on the cheap shares. Today i was on the buying side - picked up a number at average of 11shs.. Will remain on the buying side, as long as it is below 20shs.

What i found suprising was that demand was much much more than supply.
The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself
