@Trizher, this is a strategic buyer. Day to day fluctuations do not worry such fellas/institutions. They have an eye on the big picture.

@ki-nyama. Results have to be in by May 31st although I can't say precisely when they will report.

Interestingly, last year, CFC Stanbic was relatively quick to report which they did on May 11th. As a matter of practice they usually do so on deadline day and have traditionally been the last ones among the listed banks to report.

It looks like last year was an anomaly. This might be explained by the fact that they had recorded an increase of 151% in PAT against the previous year. The fact that they are not rushing to report as @hisah has alluded could be a pointer to the fact that there will be nothing of the sort this year????

...and just to add, CFC Stanbic Bank was the only bank among those listed to have reported the highest profits in Q1 relative to the other quarters.

Most banks had a gradual increase especially between Q1 and Q3. As for CFC Stanbic Q1 2010 PAT was a whopping 38% of the full year total. Now, what does that portend for Q1 2011?

After a long and tiring restructuring program, they should see positive outcomes starting this year. I know last year there were a number of one off expenses that will not recur this year. Let us wait for Q1 and HY results.

Wanted to speculate with this one at 52-54. But was not supplied. Nothing better than speculating with a cum div. Share-not sure if this one is, though it wouldn't matter for this one.

That is a good price if you manage to get it.

I think there must be guys who know that CFC is a goldmine at 60 and below. They will see it rise all the way to 90

This is too general..go further please i.e numbers, projects and estimates etc

Let us get Q1 numbers 1st.

Today's numbers show that CFC is a maize farm not a gold mine...LMAO.

Q1 results are out with a dissapointing 41% drop in Profit Before Tax. I correctly predicted my expectation of a drop in profits after an exceptional Q1 2010 which was not repeated this year.

It is no wonder that the company chose to release these results AFTER the AGM to avoid facing the wrath of the shareholders.

Very poor results indeed. I am in the red. Any key highlights and why such dismal performance?
