Mr. Seanamos, what's your market for red onions?
why did you choose Naivasha?
From the little i know, the best places where onions come from in this country are Isiolo and Ortum, you can rent an acre for 4000 per year and investment for some form of irrigation equipment.
Production greatly varies season by season, but generally one acre can get you around 50 bags, each bag being approx 14kg.
Current Market price in Nairobi is approx 80 bob per kg. In the farms its like 40 bob per kg.

Hello Subzero, Naivasha has begun being an ideal place for farming Red Onions and I want to capitalize on this. I will still need to have some irrigation plan in place. According to Farm Concern International there are hybrid seeds that will give you about 900 - 1200 Kgs per acre.

You can sell wholesale at Marikiti market if you have huge quantities.

You can get orders in supermarkets, big groceries, this will be best if you have a small quantity but better quality, this option will give you a better price per kg.

what quantity do you have
what quality do you have, in terms of size, colour, dryness?
