Hello good people.. I thought I would share some thoughts on jubileee holdings..
10 year performance
1. Total assets: up 490%
2. EPS growth: up 2,250%
3. NAV: up 215%
4. Share price appreciation: up 1200%

I recomend it as buy basing on their current expansion plan into africa and their current sustainable income..

It being jubilees 75th year I expect shareholder goodies come year end.

The current low valuations on the stock are irrational and are due to mispricing of the share as a result of low liquidity and its unaffordability on the market...

These market inefficiencies can be corrected by management and this will see an unlocking of shareholder value..

This is a share that everyone ought to have in their portfolio...

Too bad it goes ex all as of tomorrow

So we see you at the AGM tomorrow? The ex all price should be 193, I hope to pick up a few more at 190 after tomorrow from the pickings made when I offloaded Sasini. It is truly a gem, I just can't predict what it will be in Feb next year, but certainly better than the current 215 cum price.

How could a company that is planning to enter 3 new markets per year for the next three years have reached its peak??? Liar

@the deal the underwriting profit growth of 500 million a growth of 28% and one of the highest in the industry is not reflected in the income statment..
The claims were inflated as payments to pensions but I have a strong feeling this was manipulated to cushion against bad years and prevent the stating of unsustainable profits...

Contrary to the thoughts of @msimon and the rest their insurance business is booming more than ever with all segments including general, life, and medical insurance all reported robust growth of higher than 20%...

@Guru in 2010 even the worst insurance firm doubled it's profits because of the NSE which was up 36%, that shall not be repeated this year.

@ the deal I thought you had done your research...

UNDERWRITING PROFITS have nothing to do with the NSE but rather it is profit gained from insurance business of collecting premiums and paying claims not trading stocks..
In 2010 jubilees underwriting profit was 533 million and one of the best in the industry...

@the deal ontop of making killer unerwriting profits, this company is well invested in unquoted equity and rental property that will continue to give them good returns even if the NSE does nothing

@VVS the 20% fall in DTB was as a reult of the 1:5 bonus issue so I wouldnt call it cheaper since the value stays the same...

Basing on this and other counters jubilee should close the week at 190-195 and nothing lower..

@deal please stop listening to rumours...
Just check the 2010 annual report and discover how WELL the INSURANCE business performed and by how much it grew...

You will have to swallow your words after feasting your eyes on those results..

Indeed. Buying DTK now is like buying it at around 152. So its not even fallen yet!
I agree with you on Jubilee @guru. Please explain the underwriting profit matter more since what I read in the statements gave me an underwriting loss. if indeed the accountants were trying to give a more prudent picture then they are smoothening profits over the years which is a good thing for investors,no?
I sold my chunk at the peak,217. When it goes ex-all, Im buying in again. Looking for 217 again..

@ the merchant you hit the nail on the heaad...
In the chairmans statement in the report he reiterates "jubilee will continue to deliver STABLE and SUSTAINABLE earnings to shareholders"
This prudent act of ovetstating claims in the year of extraordiary nonoperating income would explain the reason for difference in the underwriting loss in the financial statements and the 500million underwriting profits in the annual report..

Whenever guru speaks, i feel less like selling jubilee. Ex all i see it going to 180-190. But i've realised there's no hurry in buying jubilee. Take your time, wait for the price dips coz they will be there, esp with half yr results abit far off.
