Listening KISS 100 in the morning i.e on Monday akina Caro did have a good discussion, for those whose radios in the morning hua religiously classic 105Pray they were talking of the life of most young men, an analysis which a guest there had done at the uni (in my own words)
...was okuyu men were almost becoming extinct in these university i.e. courses like BA etc they were mostly the bottom,

Reason, most of them just want to make money, like their dad's yaani most of our dads ni watu wa deals (not ile deal ya Wanjiru and the ka-lady)
broking etc, then they are demotivated by those guys who dropped at say form 4 to do business and they are minting money properly chances being high the uni guy will be employed by the drop out.

most of the kids have no idea what their dad's do esp. okuyus they just know wao ni nairobi business men. but can tell how much mathee earns etc.

I did go home and asked bravlet where I work she said "I just go to the office or kisumu" d'oh!

@ Brav,

Sad but true! Most kids have no ideas what business the father does ( if any). Actually very few guys actually do business in Kenya. What we have are self employed people and Deal makers. Nothing to write home about but it outs food on the table. On the other hand, university education has lost most glamour in as far as creating good opportunities are concerned. I think they should change the courses offered and make them more market friendly. In actual fact, some college courses have better rewards that university education. SO why should the kids want to get to campus!

When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

'Deal' being the operative word. So long as you can make a 'deal', preferably many, it doesnt matter.

Si kwa ubaya but how greatly will my son or daughter benefit by knowing that I'm a gova clerk? In your opinion, why must kids know what their parents do? Is it so that they can also take the same line? So what if you know that your father is an accountant?

BBI will solve it
