Simple observation.
The old man has the best shot at actualizing his wish.
The young man comes second. After his wife is taken by a rich old man, he will work harder to get his own money. That or he will tutha all his savings and become worse off. But lets hope he works harder.
The young lady will get her diamonds after the old man actualizes his wish.
After the young man gets money, he gets another wife. The old man - now even richer - comes and steals her from him - again!!!
The young lady - now getting older - loses her diamonds, the old man, and former husband (was the first to be lost).
The old lady never gets anything!!!

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.
