@nostop, its fanatical followers like apple bees, namwamba, nyong'o, millie, shebesh, ngilu.....whose exergerated zeal and craze....mentioning ODM in every sentence.....make the party a CULT. Its like they have half brains, cant see anything beyond ODM. Honestly, this pisses so many people off. Well educated people who are mental prisoners of some 'colouful' ideology. Kenya is not ODM, neither is it PNU.

@fnf, thats hate speech over there. Kenyans use money, attendance of matanga and philanthropy to gauge an MP. You get re-elected on the basis of these. Thats why being an Mp is a retirement job.

Pole for the hate speech implication. I meant they don't use their head to vote, they use their hands.

Am happy for Khalwale. It would not have made sense for a new MP to be in the piggery for only a yr just learning parliamentary lopes.

Note: Khalwale has been camping at Ikolomani since his election was nullified. Like shipapa, he connected again with the ppl at the cassava roots.

One trend I have noted with by elections in Kenya is that People vote for individuals as opposed to parties however this changes during Elections. If this was the main Elections Bonny would have gone through but the people would have voted for a presidential candidate based on the party euphoria of the day

While this might be a win for Kenya, its a loss for Ikolomani People. I mean this Guy floored a school to create a stadium for bullfighting!!!! Its no joke when people say He has little to show for Development. If you move go around the constituencies that surround Ikolomani you will be shocked at the diference in roads. Other Mps have put up clinics, sunk boreholes, improved schools etc. And by the way his region is one f the most fertile.

Luhyias love someone who is believed to be fearless and takes on the state. Thats what has endeared him to the people of Ikolomani. And that is also what kept Shikuku in parliament that long. But the people of Butere would never vote him back now that they have seen 'maendeleo' after decades of stagnation.

By the way do you know that during the recent Campaigns Dr. Bonny Khalwale told his constituents that should the 2012 run-off be between Uhuru and Raila they should vote for Agwambo?

One thing's for sure - Kamukunji is now a must-win for ODM.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

I don't know why this is so when we all know ODM did hold the Ikolomani or the Kamkunji seats before!!!

In theory yes. But the party claimed to have been robbed of victory in both instances. It is supposed to be getting back what it already owned in the first place. Winning at least one seat will vindicate the claim and be a morale booster. My view.

Maybe:
One thing is clear, save for central province, in the by elections we have had ODM and another party no defined as the front runners....this should really show you which is the strongest party in Kenya!!!!....th other parties seem to all back one of the fringe candidates in the by elections, I don't expect this to happen if it were a general election!!!!

Remember also what Khalwale said...that he won because he a brand in himself not because of the support of some party!!!!

Dont be defensive. I am actually supporting your claim that ODM is the strongest party by stating the importance of the party winning at least 1 by-election. It will be a confirmation of the obvious and help boost morale.

Congrats mr.bullfighter. FYI he is the only mp since independence to secure two consecutive terms in Ikolomani. He connects well with the grassroots and is not elitist. As MCdoda said, he is a self made brand and requires no euphoria to take him to bunge.

How exactly does an MP bring development to a constituency?

Between Uhuru and Raila, Khalwale tried to compare two evils in his view!
That doesnt mean Raila is his prefered candindate for 2012!
