About time the local banks started going up the ladder though...

1) Foreign Banks are NOT allowed into the region due to the Parent being there: Stanbic, BBK, Stanchart have to remain in Kenya

2) Local banks allowed to expand regionally which is great. KCB, Equity, etc

3) Local banks concentrate on the ignored markets esp Equity!

The same applies to safaricom can it really grow outside Kenya if it wanted to since vodafone has substantial interest in the company.
