M-Pesa job made my wife an arrogant goddess

Hi,

I am 38 years old while my former wife is aged 35, and have two sons aged 11 and six. We got married in 2001.

From 2002 to 2007, my wife worked as a house help for an Asian family here in Nairobi before she got a job as an M-Pesa kiosk attendant.

However, the new job did not last, and she was forced to go back to her former employment. In June 2009, she got another job as an M-Pesa attendant, earning a monthly salary of Sh7,000.

After six months, her salary was increased to Sh10,000, and that additional Sh3,000 ballooned her ego so much that she became a veritable goddess in the house.

She became arrogant and hostile towards me, and every time I tried to pull her down from her pedestal, she would tell me off, claiming she had a ‘pay-slip’ now.

In March last year, I realised she was having an affair with a policeman who works nearby. When I questioned her about it, she became so violent that even our neighbours cautioned her against her ways.

As if to prove that there was nothing I could do to her, she started spending the nights out and coming back home in the evening.

I decided enough was enough and sought the police officer’s phone number. I called him in my wife’s presence, but he denied that he was dating her, saying he was but just a customer at her M-Pesa joint.

As this unravelled, my wife withdrew all my conjugal rights, and we went for months without getting intimate.

During the August 2010 holidays, I took the family to visit her parents back home, but when we got there, she said she wanted to be alone henceforth, and that she would take full custody of the children. Her mother supported her.

Beaten and dejected, I travelled back to Nairobi without my wife or my two boys, determined to make the best out of the situation.

After staying with her mother for about two weeks, my wife moved out and landed into the arms of the police officer.

As fate would have it, she fell pregnant with the officer, but aborted the pregnancy. This caused a fallout between the two of them and she was kicked out of his life.

Alone, with two children and no job, she became desperate, and not even her mother could help her out. Now her mother tells me that I should go for my children because they are suffering.

I have been visiting them after every two weeks, and we have maintained a close relationship ever since they were taken from me.

What do you advise? Should I take the children? If so, what happens to their mother? Thank you.

James Muchiri.

Difficult not to note:
- Wambui Kabiru mate untimely death at hands of husband
- Parklands police officer that went berserk was arguing with his wife
- Samuel Wanjiru is no more, over the edge, arguments
- and earlier in the year, there was the woman in the dam, police shooting elsewhere etc. with a spouse/lover angle...

These quarrelsome relations between Mars and Venus, they are a sure trigger of stress. In the article above, is there reason to worry about James Muchiri?

Why can't the nation use conventionl pictures of normal women, (but I ain't complaining).
