As long as you're selling tangible goods(that you own, hapana middleman), then you are in the product business. All that matters is where on the production chain you are(manufacturer, wholeseller, retailer, reseller)

...and at that point, we disagree...

But, using your definition, it then turns out that Kenyans are NOT obsessed with service industry. Just take a walk down river road and see the number of small businesses selling all sorts of products.

In fact, most of the people you can think of that are doing some business are selling products.... mtumba clothes, new clothes from Dubai, cell-phones, computers etc

@KenyanLyrics Looks like the chemists, supermarkets, kiosks, clothing stalls, hawkers and pubs all fit your definition of products business. Perhaps we should have started by understanding your definition.
My definition of a products business is one that is engaged in the actual manufacture of a product. Not distribution, retail, marketing etc. It is fairly easy to start a business retailing a product. It's another thing starting a manufacturing plant.
