I am not sure why Equity has declined. Most factors indicate an upward bias.

As for KK, you will see that on another thread I dismissed it from the "awards list". The shenanigans in the oil industry scare off many would be investors. BD's adverse editorial today is having an impact. That said, I still have it as one of my very few picks in the industrials and allied sector.

@mwanahisa - The editorial makes little sense [poorly written too!] considering the issues unearthed at KPC over the past 2 weeks!

As for claiming that KK had no right to give their opinion about future price increases is silly! KK gave numbers behind their reasoning which is more than what ERC gives us!

Safaricom is probably one of the NSE stocks that has the X factor.

I was reading the article below:

In the article, Jim Cramer is quoted saying that just like in Talent Competitions, winning stocks can have the "X-factor" too. Cramer says "There's something that can't be quantified that makes us want to pick this or that stock no matter what and keep paying up for it," He added that this is over and above good numbers and beating earnings estimates, although these are essential. A lot of Tech shares in the U.S. market have certainly enjoyed this e.g. Google, Apple, Amazon & Intel.

This got me thinking that some shares on the NSE have indeed exhibited some of this in the past while others are still in this zone. It is worth noting these shares can however lose the X-Factor and stagnate or plunge.

For those that have done so in the past, I think a good example is East African Cables.

Others that appear to still be enjoying this X-Factor coolness on the NSE include Scangroup, Athi River Mining, & Equity Bank (& CIC although not yet listed is quickly joing this list). What do you guys think and which would be your picks going forward?

@VVS. I agree but the reality is that KK's share price gets affected by the run-ins with the MoE crooks. This is all very well for long termers who can keep picking them up whenever they slump. However, as you have yourself pointed out the cash runs out at some point.

BTW, the NMG should also declare their interest in the matter. I am sure they want to increase their readership with the populist nonsense!

@mwanahisa....I don't think its populist nonesense. These guys simply lack knowledge. You can offer to submit articles to our papers (business) if you want to see any change. Until then, get used to 'investor grade' journals written by rooftop college drop outs. I don't mean to be cocky but that's the way it is.

So lets mop up more of this stock today at 9.3 then. That seems to be the support. It will take some time to recoup this investment though so do not let it exceed 20% of your portfolio.

Was parked @ 9.3 last 3 days. Patience paid when I got em all & in1 block smile. Just hope todays discount won't be keshoz premium. He he. Though toward close trades resumed @ 9.4 so probably 9.3 is the floor. When KK resumes interim div.s probably H1 2011 then bullishness on it will ramp up. Kedo 0.3cts interim will dandy for me ;-)
