Here we go again. It looks like these crooks go way up. Your guess is as good as mine how far up. Else these sagas would have ended long ago. How come PLO never says anything?

PLO took the "Oath" (a.k.a Mumah) on day one on the job just like Ringera.

He came in to turn the commission into the National Theater of Poetry.

Am just wondering... what happened to Performance Contract??? Is it that MK & RAO didn't believe in it from the very beginning and all it was during it's launch was a PR exercise... fullstop!!!

I have at least an understanding of what is going on after reading this story. We have a mungiki like clique of businessmen who are making billions beating the system at the expenses of established brands Welcome to the capitalist Nation.

Quote:
Every month, the ullage committee, which is responsible for allocating space comes up with a list with details of the space allocated to importers at the Kipevu Oil Storage facility, the Mombasa-Nairobi pipeline and other storage facilities owned by Kenya Pipeline Company Ltd.

Out of the 53 licensed importers who were allocated ullage space in the month of April -- less than 10 own petroleum stations. If you combine the total of the space allocated to these new players, it is more than what has been allocated to a major player such as Kenol Kobil with 30 per cent share.

The weaknesses of a system skewed to favour traders at the expense of big players with marketing outlets came out clearly during last week's crisis.

In the middle of the crisis, KPC was sitting on 19 million litres of petrol in its tanks in Nairobi's Industrial Area even as motorist were suffering, having to wait in long queues.

It was to emerge later that of the 19 million litres of petrol in KPC tanks -- the largest proportion belonged to trading companies with no marketing outlets.

This explains last week's riddle of a country with too much petrol in storage yet not a drop in the petrol stations.

Truth be told the "briefcase importers" have always been there and no one was complaining because they were kept in check and the big marketers had good margins so no one was complaining. Obviously everyone has now realized just lucrative it is to import oil and the big marketers started feeling the pinch and one by one they started moving out mobil, shell, caltex. IMHO what's happening now has to do with briefcase importer wanting a larger piece of the pie(i think it's MOE policy to support the locals which is ok), short term well it will work long term it will really mess the oil industry

Looking at Total Q1 they were actually saved by other income from sale of chevron assets otherwise they are in loss territory so KK will also not survive the shave even with regional expansion

RAO visited Iran recently to see his friend President "...Ayatola **..**nidad" whatever.

Since there was nothing official to communicate to Kenya from Iran, there must have been some goodies for him from Iran in the form of some few metric tonnes (at a price of $ "I'll See You Later" Per Barrel). Campaign imeanza.

With the Parliamentary Select Committee formed to investigate the increased cost of fuel and food in place, who will convince @coldtusker to appear before it? This will unlock the value of kk and possibly hand us KPC as icing. Not to forget KM and PN might end up in the gallows, after all Willy is now incharge.

Nairobi is +4.20 but I think the other towns further away will be higher since transport costs have increased as well.

When a fuel truck delivers fuel to Kakamega, mandera, etc it uses the 'pricier' fuel too leading to higher transport costs across the board!

KPC has screwed up on the Pipeline otherwise fuel would go by pipeline all the way to Kisumu without the need for fuel trucks.
