Anyone on with a number or email that i can report fraud to kplc? Or an annoyance? I was reminded that i had not paid a previous bill despite having paid the bill for the month that followed(i.e paid for the April bill before clearing March) with a disconnection.Despite not having received the bill,i went to kplc(electricity house) and paid plus the reconnection fee-Promised it will be reconnected in 24 hours. The hours have lapsed and still waiting. Now the caretaker tells me to buy a fuse for Ksh.100 to be reconnected.Do these pple work in cahoots? Other tenants are telling me i should av not paid the reconnection fee...after clearing the bill,i should have paid Ksh.100 for the fuse...d'oh! Sad A bribe is a no for me...Anyone willing to assist? I agree hiyo ni pesa kidogo...lakini...

While on it,seems this bus has lost momentum...

pole sana, i agree with u that they r annoying but the fact that u did not receive the bill is not an excuse since you r bound by rules of postal acceptance. my advice is buy the fuse n restore power n there will be no problem since u have paid the bill.

Hold on... Is this the building caretaker or someone from KPLC?

When I used to go on holiday, my fuse was always 'burnt' out! Then I found out the caretaker was the one involved. He would sell my fuse to others!

So I got a new fuse. Marked it up so if it was replaced with a faulty one, I knew who had mine!!!

The issue here is that the pending bills have been repaid plus the reconnection fee.Seems that is not enough,i have to pay 100Ksh to the caretaker(building) to have power back. The KPLC service charter states that a reconnection should be done within 24 hours which was confirmed at room 210 electricity house.Calling 0202221251,they confirmed that someone was coming...Up to now hajafika. At 5.30,the caretaker tells me a payment of Ksh.100 can enable me have power.i.e buy a fuse.

Actually; it's very simple: call the regional commercial manager [the number is on your bill]. Ask to speak to the manager or his/her assistant. Then follow-up with a letter delivered to their office. You will see things moving.

If that doesn't work; call the HQ and ask to speak to Eng. Rosemary K Gitonga, Chief Manager, Commercial Services....or her assistant... now that will get things moving very quickly!

NB: make sure you have details at hand - acc no., dates paid, amounts paid etc

Does the e-bill(email and SMS) really work? My bill never changes even after making payments. I thought it should show the bill as is at the moment.

Somethings are just so funny / sickening, they ask for directions to your place so that they can reconnect, how did they get there to disconnect....
You must be happy now with power back.

Hah hah... The teams are different but good point! It is time we had proper addresses in Nairobi with numbers & streets as part of them e.g. 25 Msupi Rd, 185 Westlands Rd, 190 Mara Rd, etc!
