I noticed a very huge jump in the prices of these two stocks,Carbacid and City Trust and until now i cant see a good explanation. Can anyone enlighten me and do you think they will stay up if not rise further?

City Trust is very illiquid... Only 5.7mn shares with 50% held by one investor. The top 10 have 77% of the shares. I don't think the Top 10 are sellers so it leaves a much smaller liquid footprint (23%).

Since this firm has been listed for many years, I think some of the shareholders are not even in Kenya or are 'lost' i.e. dormant.

398,321 of 5.7mn was added to Unclaimed Dividends in 2009 which is equal to 398,321 shares = 7%

So only 16% are true float assuming the Top 10 do not bother selling at this price. Note that some of the 16% may not be sellers either coz they may be 'dormant' but their relatives continue banking the dividend through joint accounts!
