If there is one thing Africans do far much better than the so called westerners is raising their kids. No society even comes close! A kid raised in the proper African way [whichever African community he/she comes from] is 'balanced', respectful, thoughtful, intelligent, kind, responsible, hardworking etc. etc. This rubs even on African Americans. For example how many African American kids have you heard who shot up the whole school because of some real or imaginary problems?

The problem with us Africans is accepting everything from the west. Western governments through the UN and other bodies have forced their 'values' down our throats. I have in mind things like the child bills/rights - you are not supposed to beat your kids etc. How the hell do we take advice from people who have failed miserably in bringing up their kids? Granted, we have our shortcomings - like the fathers who neglect their kids etc. But we don't need to look to the west for solutions and become signatories to agreements developed by people whose approach has been obviously inferior to ours! Take this nonsense of gay rights for example. It is slowly being forced down our throats. When those two men who tried to get married in Uganda were arrested, western governments were up in arms! wtf? What about all the other people that get arrested everyday - like hawkers and makangas. Do Western governments ever say anything? Noooo! I guess gays have more rights than them.
