Have been following Lillian Muli's series 'LOCKDOWN' on citizen tv.
This weekend feature of a first-time offender who was sentenced to life for impersonating a police officer looks cruel.

I Watched it too and I second you @ Foreman. The guy looked quite remorseful. Hope he is not putting up a face

Guys, guys, I hope any of you guys would give a job to an ex-con especially one released from death row or formerly serving a life sentence. The fact is that the fellow would face a very rough time outside prison, not to mention the flying squad who rarely give time to robbery ex-cons.

I remember a once notorious robber (cant recall his name) who served an eight year sentence but also let it know that he feared he would be killed by the police once he got out of prison. He even went to KNHR offices for assistance but he was killed by police only 2 weeks after his release. Sad.
We all need to give reformed ex-cons a second chance.

@Robinhood employing ex-cons is rather hard as our correctional system would be a big joke had it not been so tragic. Its intent seem to be solely to punish. Reform is an afterthought if it ever thinks. We consequently end up with prisons that churn out criminals or hardened criminals from those `innocently` imprisoned and petty offenders.

It is not uncommon to hear of petty offenders being sent to jail instead of community service or probation. They get released and they find that what little they had in life has moved on and pretty fast end up in crime.

Pretty bad.....Does impersonation warrant a life sentence in a maximum security prison??....No wonder we still have prisons instead of correctional centres.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
