It has been reliably established that a top politician has lost staggering $10 Million hard cash while coming back from Hague.

As far as i have known before its not possible to travel with such cash in international airports. Is standard telling us the truth or just payukaring

The O6 will face justice in many ways.

@Freiks, suppose they owner of the cash had diplomatic immunity, would it not be possible to just zip past customs in most airports?

10 million dollars. Is this for real. What do you carry 10 million dollars in cash for? Methinks must be more sensational journalism.

This story is Rubbish. US$10 million in cash is equivalent to 1000 bundles of $100 dollar bills which are bundled into U$10,000 sets.

According to the U.S. Treasury, "In $100 bills, the weight of $1
million is about 22 pounds." [that's 10 kg.]...
http://www.ustreas.gov/press/releases/rr2748.htm

This implies that the guy was carrying 100Kg of hand luggage...

the area of a single bill is 6.6294 cm by 15.5956 cm which is
.066294 m by .155956 m = 0.0103389471 square meters

Since $1,000,000 requires 10,000 bills, the total area of the bills is
103.389471 square meters... multiply this by 10, to get $10million
and the total thickness is 124 micrometers * 10,000 = 1,240,000
micrometers = 1.24 meters.
So the height of a single stack is 1.24 meters.
And the volume of the stack is 103.389471 * 0.000124 = 0.01282 cubic meters

I rest my case.

A 10 million dollar swift transfer to the ICC would have taken less than 24 hours. Can even be received in much less time if deemed urgent. Why carry cash?

The Standard journalists and editors should read SAC Cohen's response up there. Journalists are too lazy to research on their stories and simply put up rumours.

According to UK, he was worth (approximately, apparently) US$10 million.

http://www.kenyanentrepr...bout-10-million-dollars

Now that he lost the US$10 million at the airport, can we now effectively say, he is poor? HOAX!

The Standard newspaper could have got the amount carried wrong, but it was sure a hell load of cash....we will never know, political interest has to be protected...ama is this linked to Ocampo asking them to declare their wealth?

Standard has to sell more so on a friday when there is no news.

Like i said in an ealier thread, this paper is not worth being used as a flying toilet.

Call it what you like, but the quality of news in this gutter paper as well as their editors is lower than low.
