since rene menza said they were going to relaunch their money transfer service silence has characterized its actual relaunch date we hear only of 3G but not about ZAP.Funny enough Airtel has launched a new money transfer service in india Airtel money This shows ZAP belongs to ZAIN and we should look forward to a new mobile money transfer service from Airtel probably by the end of the year. Can someone with an insider information tell us who owns this ZAP solution....Its obvious Airtel does not own it.I have observed that the Zap colours are intact in all their localities they were never re-branded in Airtel screaming red colour. Another thing has rene menza marketed the solution to enhance its outreach like MJ does with Mpesa. @aydenjason...shhhh...the reality is these guys don't own most of the value added platforms they use for example their kukopa credo platform is owned by MDSL. And most companies are always witty enough not to let their subsidiaries own the proprietory products, patents or trademarks that are largely beneficial to the parent or has an intrinsic value. Thus does Airtel own ZAP? 'They say money cannot buy me happiness but when i compare when i had none and now, i'm happier' Kevin O'leary

Whoever can get nearly fee-free mobile money accessible via smartphone bypassing all the usual money transfer services is going to win the telecom war... when I can take my Huawei Android or Apple iPhone from anywhere in the world, snap a picture of a check, or swipe a credit card, or log into an account and transfer money to any Kenyan (using the internet, encypted of course), for a very small fee, or, be a Kenyan and collect money for a very small fee, that organization takes the crown. Here's some help to get it started: http://www.wired.com/rev...010/02/pr_square_iphone
