Usually, such pens are archived as they are used in signing ceremonial documents such as the ones used by President Kibaki on Promulgation Day. The state thus values the items used and keeps them under state security.

The President of Czech Republic was asked to return the pen for preservation but he denied ever stealing it. Chilean government allowed the pictures to go viral in return.
Go overdrive in purchasing the goods when there's blood on the streets, expecially if the blood is your own

It's such a shame that western leaders are so underpaid!

None of our African Presidents would shame us like that! Emilio probably wouldn't notice the pen anyway, unless Muthaura amuonyeshe...

In my opinion, he was taking it not stealing it.
At least the world now knows who the Czech president is, before this video I'd no clue and had no reason to find out.
